With reference to your advertisement in the (date) issue of FFF, I wish to apply for the post of sales executive in ready-to-wear clothing within your family-run company.  

As you can see from the curriculum vitae that I have enclosed, I have the experience and skills that you are looking for. I have an NVQ in sales and merchandising, and have been in the profession for five years. I currently work for DDD, but I am unable to make full use of all my skills and experience in this type of chain store, as the sales executive is only really acting as a retailer with no chance of providing an advisory service or building up a sound rapport with the customer, all of which detracts from the purpose of the profession.  

The work that you are offering would allow me to demonstrate the extent of my expertise. I find my profession highly rewarding, and I always adopt a conscientious approach. I am sure that you would be fully satisfied with my performance.
